Chirano Sefwiman Foundation Commissions 13 community projects

The Chirano Sefwiman Foundation has handed over thirteen (13) completed projects to communities in the catchment area of the Mine. Ntrentreso, Futa, Appeakrom, Kwanikrom, Surano, Anglo, Nsuonsua, and Subri were provided with mechanized boreholes.

At Paboase, all chalkboards of their Primary and Junior High School, constructed some years ago by Chirano Gold Mines, were replaced with marker boards. Lawerkrom was provided with funeral/durbar grounds, Ahwiaa and Akaaso recieved large refuse skips and the excavation and fencing of their landfill respectively.

Commissioning the projects, Vice President and General Manager, George Nutor, said two years ago, Chirano Gold Mines Limited launched the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation to promote development in our local communities. The completed projects were executed based on the specific needs of each community and are in line with the overall objective of the foundation.

George assured the communities of Asante Gold Corporation’s commitment to the development of communities in its areas of operation. He added that to date, the foundation has provided full scholarships to over 60 students at the tertiary level and will continue to roll out life transforming projects to the benefit of the people.

Chief of Ntrentreso, Nana Kwasi Asante II thanked the Mine for the projects, promising that the communities will maintain them to the highest standards. The projects were completed at a cost of GHC 615,000
